A Poem for Israelis and Palestinians

Sorry for the short diary, but I was listening to Democracy Now! today and it made me think about the Israeli/Palestinian conflict and how both sides just want a home, so I wrote a little poem about it.

A Home

A home, a home…
What is a home
if you have no door,
if you can’t find the key,
if your windows are opaque?
What is a home
if you can’t trust your neighbors,
if their every move is suspect,
if you live in fear?
What is a home
if you’re surrounded by barbed wire,
if you’re starved of supplies,
if you have no water?
We may as well be living in camps.
Concentrate.
